Tracey and Anne with Ava Flemming

Just Because... is launched
The first event was back in August 2005 when Tracey aided and abetted by Anne, organised a day of workshops and an evening of music and dance in Manchester. Local teachers gave their time for free to teach workshops and Anne's students sold refreshments. The workshops were a sell out and the money raised for the day was beyond their expectations. The evenings meal and music event was held at Ferdowsi. Tracey negotiated a good price for the meal and room hire and persuaded the Nile Band to entertain us for free. Anne organised an auction, all items donated for free, and, assisted by Shirley and some of her students raised £2000 by the end of the evening. As well as the Nile Band playing Kharis and Jamila performed solos and the evening was a great success. Just Because was off and running raising £3500 at our very first event.

Bedazzle 2005 and 2006 and 2007
Organised by Wiggle web site owner and organiser of the popular Jewel of Yorkshire dance festival Chris Odgen, the Bedazzle events offered a twofold concept, to raise money for a good cause which relates to the dance and to facilitate a performance platform for local dancers of all levels.

Bedazzle is a celebration of the talent of dancers from Yorkshire and surrounding areas. Participants range from student to professional level dancers, working as soloists, performance troupes and class groups.
