Breast cancer is something that can potentially affect all of us. If caught early it can be treated successfully. 'Just Because' is a great idea as most of the women in Egypt do not have easy, if any, access to diagnostic treatment and this will really help. Egypt has been a huge source of inspiration to me so it is a pleasure to support such a worth while cause.
Chris Ogden (Wiggle web/Jewel of Yorkshire and Bedazzle event organiser)
We have taken a great deal from the culture of Egypt in order to follow our dance. It is fitting that profits from the Bedazzle events will go to the 'Just Because...' fund. We hope by this we can give something back in exchange for what we have borrowed.
Jacky Oruc
Dancer and teacher in Lincolnshire- I first heard about 'Just Because' via an invitation to a fundraising hafla, it was early on when Sara had been diagnosed with breast cancer, within just a couple of weeks I was getting loads of emails requesting raffle prizes and with information about different fundraising events from different groups, how quickly the word had spread and been taken to the hearts of our close knit dance community. Conversation with different friends followed and I was shocked to hear how difficult it is for women to be diagnosed and treated in Egypt and how little funding there is for such essential treatment that we in this country would take for granted. After visiting Cairo for the first time in May 2006 I realized what a privileged life we have in England and how much the Middle Eastern culture, women and music has changed my life forever. We have taken so much from them and now it is our chance to give something back!
